ABSENCE & MAKE-UP CLASS POLICY
Below is the studio's standard procedure for how absences and make-up requests are reviewed and approved.
ALL ABSENCES
All absences must be communicated in advance via email or phone to the studio: 720-746-9489 / sweatshop.dance@hotmail.com.
MAKE-UP CLASSES
Make-up classes are intended for occasional, one-off absences, not a recurring or ongoing conflict. When a make-up class is needed, it must be approved by the Director in advance, tied to the specific class missed, and completed within two weeks in a like-for-like class — the same style/discipline, at or below the dancer's current level.
Make-up requests are simple: contact the Director/admin in advance via email or phone call to Sweatshop Dance to inquire about eligibility. This allows us to confirm the right fit for the class missed, including checking in with the teacher when needed.
WHAT DOES NOT QUALIFY
Attending a class on an inconsistent or as-needed basis, specifically in place of a missed required class, does not automatically satisfy that absence unless approved in advance by the Director as an official make-up. Make-up classes are not available as a substitute for a standing or recurring commitment (for example, a weekly outside activity, job, or class that regularly conflicts with a dancer’s scheduled class time). Dancers with a recurring conflict should speak with the Director directly about enrollment and scheduling. Make-ups are not available for absences that were not pre-communicated, as outlined above.
Make-up classes are a courtesy, not a right, and may be declined at the Director's discretion, particularly in cases of repeated or patterned absence. Thank you for helping us maintain a consistent, fair, and high-quality training environment for every dancer in our program.
