From beginners to professionals, SWEATshop offers a variety of classes, levels, and styles, set in a professional atmosphere, for seriously motivated dancers. From drop-in classes, to hourly monthly rates, to the rigors of the full pre-professional program and Company (see our Company page), if you're looking to explore dance at a pre-professional level we've got you covered. We offer a free trial class to all new students, and registration is available throughout the training season.
program DESCRIPTIONS
PROTEGE Program (average Ages 6-8)
THINK YOU HAVE A FUTURE DANCER ON YOUR HANDS!? THIS LEVEL IS WHERE IT'S AT! Protege Program students are considered to be Beginning level dancers. No experience is required to participate in this level, young dancers are encouraged to get their feet wet in as many styles as they can. Protege classes are focused primarily on artistic and stylistic exploration, technique, vocabulary, memorization skills, and...of course, ENJOYMENT! |
PRODIGY Program (average Ages 9-11) - Prodigy Program students are considered to be Beginning/Intermediate level dancers. Slightly older, and more experienced than our Protege level dancers, Prodigy level dancers typically have previous dance experience. Placement/trial classes are recommended prior to enrollment in each class/style. Prodigy classes are focused primarily on expanding technique, vocabulary, and choreography retention.

GURU Program (average Ages 11-13) - Guru Program students are considered to be Intermediate level dancers. Experience is required to get the most out of this level. Placement/trial classes are strongly recommended prior to enrollment in each class/style. Guru level classes are focused on technical execution and placement, expanding vocabulary, and artistic expression. The intensity of the classes is heightened in comparison to the Prodigy level, and ballet classes will often include pointe work.

PARAGON Program (average Age 13-15) - Paragon Program students are considered to be Intermediate/Advanced level dancers. Heightened experience is required to participate in this level. Placement/trial classes are required prior to enrollment in each class/style. Paragon level classes are focused on technical execution and placement, expanding vocabulary, and artistic expression. A strong foundation of basic technical skills is a requirement of this level. The intensity of these classes is significantly heightened in regard to choreography retention and execution.

MOGUL Program (average Ages 15-16) - Mogul Program students are Advanced dancers for their age looking to train at a rigorous technical and emotional level. This level requires extensive training in each style; only mature, dedicated students will be able to participate in this exciting level. Dancers in this level often foresee themselves potentially exploring Dance after high school. Classes move quickly, attention to detail and performance quality are highly focused upon. Placement classes are required for all classes/styles.

ICON Program (average Ages 16+) - An Icon dancers' goal is to reach the peak of their training. Classes move very quickly and are geared toward Professional level dancers. A mastery of many skills is required to enter this training level. Placing focus not only on technique but on artistry and choreographic execution will ensure that these dancers are ready to take on a professional dance career if they choose. This level should be considered the pinnacle of the Sweatshop PreProfessional training program. Placement classes are required.
