WEEKLY SUMMER EVENING TRAINING
From dancers with professional aspirations to those who just want to explore new styles or environments, summer is a great time to dance! And, because heathy rhythm is beneficial to keeping young dancers maintaining and progressing in their training, Sweatshop holds open classes throughout the summer for dancers wishing to maintain and improve their style and technique. Two evening sessions are offered each summer (schedule below), and tuition is billed weekly. Pre-registration is recommended, but "at the door" registration is often available. DRENCHED: THE INTENSIVE!
July 21st - August 1st, 2025
Drenched: The Intensive is Sweatshop's premier summer event, and one of the best intensive values nation-wide. Driven by some of the hottest teaching staff available, students are empowered to take their dancing to the next level! Intensive training in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Hip Hop, Tap, Ballroom, and Fitness gets to the core of what Sweatshop is all about - DIVERSITY; we trust you won't find a more diverse summer intensive available anywhere! Don't miss the opportunity to work with our incredible faculty and guest artists toward achieving your greatest potential this summer! This intensive runs Monday-Friday, daytime hours, both weeks.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & AUDITION REGISTRATION
Sweatshop’s summer intensive is open to dancers of all ages, at varying levels of experience, from around the country. The mission of our in-house and guest faculty is to provide all attendees with a whirlwind preprofessional training experience that will both inspire and enlighten them both technically and artistically. We absolutely encourage everyone looking for place to be ‘pushed’ in an energizing and supportive atmosphere to consider auditioning.
The acceptance and placement auditions (all ages) will consist of a classical ballet barre followed by uptempo contemporary or jazz-fusion choreography. Ballet attire (black Leo, pink tights, flat and/or pointe shoes, hair up) or form-fitting black dance wear is preferred. Please download the audition registration form(s) below, complete, and submit along with the $40 audition fee: Forms and fee may be submitted using the REGISTRATION FORM UPLOAD and PAYMENT TOOL provided,
or in-person at the audition.
Audition results, and all available additional information, will be communicated within 7 days following the audition to the email address provided on the Audition Registration Form submitted. VIDEOS (7-10 MIN IN LENGTH) SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING
1) Brief Introduction, Including Name, Age, and Location
2) Ballet Barre - Concise Combinations of "The Basics" (en pointe, if applicable)
3) Jazz/Contemporary - Jazz progressions, Choreography, or In-studio Solo Performance.
Please don't stress, auditionees are not being judged on videography!
Keep it simple, as long as we can see and hear you/music clearly, and get a clear sense of who you are and where you
are in your dancing journey, we'll have everything we need.
ATTIRE
Please wear black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, hair up, for ballet, and form-fitting
dancewear for jazz, choreography, or solo.
