Meet Mikayla Bing!  Mikayla is a talented and dedicated 11 year old dancer (and avid book-reader) whose favorite color is teal (hence this font)!  Mikayla has been training and performing with Sweatshop since she was a mere two years old and, currently, her favorite style/genre of dance is Hip Hop.  While she loves taking class and rehearsing, it's the competition season that really fuels her fire - Mikayla's competitive spirit keeps her working hard and honing in on her skills so she can stay on her "A-game"!   

With aspirations of becoming a professional dancer and teacher one day, Mikayla believes that learning a wide variety of styles from a talented variety of teachers is currently helping her become a better dancer overall, and will pay off in the future.  We agree!  But, dance training is one day at a time and, on the the path to greatness, small achievable goals are a great way to keep moving forward.  One of Mikayla's current
short term dance goals is to further her flexibility.  Don't we all want to be more flexible?!

It's worth noting that Mikayla seems to be consistently and effortlessly motivated.  From where does she draw her unfailing inspiration?  Mikayla said she inspired by the dance community around the world, and cherishes every opportunity to meet, learn, and dance with new people.  That's great!  But is there anyone specific she looks to for inspiration?  In an attempt to narrow it down, we asked her who her one biggest inspiration was...and, of course, she picked three:  Kira Leach, Grace LeMieux, and Ali Montez, a powerful trio of Sweatshop's talented alumni.  Though these dancers are now out in the world making their own marks, they left a lasting impression on Mikayla, who continues to strive to be the excellence of her Sweatshop legacy.
