The intensive runs daytime, Monday through Friday, approximately 8:30AM-4:00PM for the full two weeks! Individual level schedules will not be available until approximately one month prior to start date.

What to expect
Ballet every day, augmented with Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Strength and Fitness, Improvisation, and more, delivered by world-class guest artists and, of course, our incredible Sweatshop faculty. Our collective goals are to strengthen the basics and broaden horizons. Two of our favorite weeks of the year, Drenched is always an intensive dance experience; physical, passionate, and full-out…we’ve said it before, but “Prepare to Sweat!”

AUDITION DETAILS
*Dancers should audition in their age group at the time of the audition (4/3/21)
In-person Audition: NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Due to Covid-19, space for the in-person audition may be limited. If you are not a Sweatshop student, you are more than welcome, and encouraged to attend the in-person audition. We recommend submitted audition materials as soon as possible. Upon submitting your registration form and fee, all new-to-Sweatshop auditionees will be sent the complete studio Covid-19 protocols and guidelines. We will begin accepting in-person audition registrations March 22nd, 2021. In-person space will be confirmed on a first-come first, served basis.
Virtual Audition Option: NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Virtual auditions are a great way for out-of-town dancers to be able to attend the “live” audition and, for the first time ever, can serve to replace the “video” audition option. Registration for the Virtual audition is submitted through the same process as the in-person audition. Fill out and submit the form (selecting “virtual” audition) online or via email, submit payment online using the tool provided below. Links to the audition rooms, along with required passwords will be sent via email approximately 24 hours prior to the audition.
What to expect during the Audition:
As ballet technique is the basis of initial placement, all auditions will begin with a simple-but-challenging ballet barre and center work (including pointe work for those on pointe) followed by Jazz or Contemporary choreography.
What to wear:
Ballet: Tights and a leotard (pink and black preferred), ballet shoes (pointe shoes available)
Choreography: To save time, please just throw some shorts over ballet attire
After the audition:
Acceptance into the intensive will be communicated within 72 hours following the audition; however, placement within the audition may not be immediately determined. Additional details will be communicated along with acceptance status.

MAKE-UP AUDITION: VIDEO
Video should be 5-7 minutes in length and consist of ballet barre and center work (pointe if en pointe), followed by uptempo jazz technique/progressions or classroom choreography. Class work only, no competition videos please! Dancers must wear black leotard, pink tights, ballet shoes, hair up for ballet and may wear black, form-fitting dance attire for jazz. Dancers will be notified of acceptance within 7 days following audition receipt and assigned a level within the intensive within 30 days prior to the Intensive - dancers will be placed based on audition video performance. Dancers will be notified of receipt of audition via email, along with expectations as to when to receive notification of acceptance status.
